Among the product offerings in this collection are the Joy handbag in three different sizes, a silk scarf, a soft briefcase, toiletries bag, hard-sided luggage, a trolley suitcase and a duffle bag in two sizes. Giannini has taken Guccis iconic webbing and its GG pattern canvas and reinterpreted them in white, shiny GG canvas complemented by bold red and royal blue stripes. The Gucci Hearts NY moniker, which uses Guccio Guccis iconic signature, has been irreverently stamped across the fabric.
The limited edition range had walked off the shelves by the end of the first day of trading. As the most charitable collection, proceeds from the sale of these Gucci Hearts NY bags benefited the Playground Partners of Central Park Conservancy. This donation was used for the maintenance and operation of the 21 childrens playgrounds in Central Park.
